Came here with a friend for dinner. Really spacious restaurant and not that full. The food comes out super quick and everything was tasty. We ordered the Chong Qing spicy chicken, the cumin lamb and the Sichuan beef. Everything was seasoned very well, it was a little less spicy than some other Sichuan restaurants but still very good . The server was super nice and attentive. They don't rush you to order or to leave which was a plus 4.5/5 stars. Sorry for eating all the food before these pictures

Ordered from Uber Eats- they have a 2 for one Mapo Tofu special going on. It was also 3am! Food was ALRIGHT, the flavors were not super authentic. Your classic OK Chinese food. Not going to complain about the price because the cost of everything has just skyrocketed.

I frequently order takeout from Chairman Sun and enjoy their authentic dishes. The menu is rather comprehensive, with a separate section for your standard Chinese takeout dishes if that's what you're looking for. Takeout is typically swift, which I appreciate as someone just looking to grab something on my way home to enjoy while watching Netflix. I've visited for dine in a small handful of times and was surprised by how large and well decorated the interior was upon actually entering. Service every time I've visited has always been attentive and polite, and the food is served quick and piping hot. The dishes I typically order are the hot and sour soup (appropriately spicy!), the tomato egg (so silky with a balance of savory and sweet), and the pork in hunan farm style (also spicy but oh so good). They have a good lunch special deal, and I genuinely appreciate this staple, solid Chinese restaurant in the LIC neighborhood that I would visit again and again.

Food was great!!! Staff was very nice and everything was delicious. Would def go back. Our favorite dish was the cumin lamb!!

Hupo had a 2 hour wait while Chairman Sun was nearly empty. But I'm so glad I have it a try because service was very attentive (refills on tea cups, water cups, change dirty plates). The decor was traditional yet clean and most importantly, I was so happy with the food! We got Mapo tofu with pork, cold sesame noodles and made our own mala dry pot. Everything had so much flavor so definitely order white rice to pair with all their dishes! The sauce for the cold sesame noodles was probably some of the best I've had. The Mapo tofu had so much flavor while still being balanced (spicy, salty, and vinegar flavors to round it out) I'll definitely come back to try their other dishes and drinks! Cocktails are reasonably priced at $10 a drink!

After weeks of ordering delivery, I finally went in person. Lovely place! And the foods great and fragrant! I'm a vegetarian btw. I got the (1) homestyle tofu and (2) sautéed beans with eggplant sticks. Slightly oily overall, but still super yum! It's twice as good as the quality of your neighborhood takeout spot (for twice the price, but ay, the math checks out). We also got the egg buns! These were slightly sweet and scrumptious. Everything was spot on and freshly made. I'm coming back!

* Maybe 3.5/5 for value Super friendly service & nice ambience in the back. Got a medium spicy dry pot with 8 ingredients for 2 people: beef brisket, beef aorta, quail egg, fish fillet, Napa cabbage, bok choy, potato slices, and tofu skin. They recommend 8-12 ingredients for 2 folks, but even 8 left us with plenty of leftovers. Also the medium spicy level was genuinely so spicy! They are not messing around (or maybe I was just having an off day). Did wish there was a noodle option -- something more carby to soak up all the dry pot sauce. Flavors were solid, numbing. Def on the pricier end but this is LIC, so what can you expect.

Good neighborhood spot. My boyfriend and I came on a weeknight and tried the pork soup dumplings, cumin lamb and mapo tofu. Everything was very tasty, though the food took a long time to come out.
